Our weekend...

Yes, I know, it's so exciting to read!

Anyways, this weekend, we went to see the new Star Trek movie - although, it's not really new, but you know what I mean.. We saw it because my Aunt Maura insisted it was a great movie, and if we saw that one, she in turn would see The Dark Knight which Rob and I think is brilliant (because it is!) I must saw, though I am not a Trekkie (however you spell it) fan, I was pleasantly surprised with how good the movie was. I thought the acting was pretty good, and an overall good story. Not the best movie, but if they made more movies and made it a series, I would go see them.

After the movie was over, we hung around the house for a little bit, and then went and met my sister Catherine, Aunt Jo, and Uncle Bill for dinner at Mary'z - my sister's favorite place to eat when she comes to Houston. Not my favorite, but it was still good. Afterwards, we went back to Aunt Jo's house and played a game of Spades. Rob was my parter, and I think it was good to play that game so Rob and I could get a feel on how to read each other.. Not that it worked out often, but, it was still a lot of fun, and we ended up doing pretty good!

On Sunday, we went over to my brother-in-law Wes' house to have a meal with the family. It ended up being Rob, me, Sam, Peggy, Kelly, Wes, and Sherri. Kelly has been living in Ohio for about 10 months or so, and finally just came back a few days ago, so we are just getting together to celebrate her being home and be around family. Rob and I were so excited (and awesome!) that we made a really good chocolate cake with vanilla icing which I decorated really cute! We all had lunch which was super yummy, and then we played the dvd game Scene-It. After messing with that for a while we played Swap, and finally we played Five Crowns. We had a good time visiting and playing games. We are looking forward to spending more time with them this upcoming weekend for the 4th of July!

I finish the blog with a picture of the cake Rob and I made today!

Update

Well.. it's that time again. Summer! I am really enjoying my time off, and getting to spend more time with the kitties, as well as with Rob when he gets to work from home. It's nice getting to spend lots of time with him and to eat with him most days of the week. That is one of the awesome things about not having a job this summer. I will admit, there are days when I feel like I'm going to lose it because there's just not much to do -- which is completely not true because I have SO many things I could (and should) be doing! For instance, studying for the GRE.. and working on the house.. It's just so much easier when Rob's here with me to do it!

Another nice thing about having the summer off is getting to visit with friends and family. In the past couple of weeks, I've seen my Great Aunt, Aunt & Uncle, and an Aunt from Lubbock. I also got to spend a little time with my pregnant friend Kelli which has been so great! I get to spend time with her, and also learn more about what it's like to BE pregnant. (Which I am NOT, but will be some day..) I can't wait to hear how her last month goes, and hopefully go up to the hospital to see her and the baby once he's here! So exciting!

Speaking of babies.. My babies -- or cats -- have been driving me crazy! I don't know what it is, but they sometimes refuse to use the litter box that we have. It's a cat genie, so it wasn't exactly cheap when we got it.. And usually once a day, I find poop to pick up. Drives me crazy. And then they jump on everything, knock papers off.. I know they're cats.. but still. I think the four of us have spent a little too much time together! So, tonight Rob and I are going to get a "normal" (but BIG) cat litter box, and see if they will use that on a regular basis. I really hope so. Otherwise, these cats are going to have to find a new home! Not really.. but.. I will be less stressed if our new box ends up working.

Anyways, that's the news for now. I'm hoping I will update more often to keep at least myself entertained this summer -- since I'm pretty sure I have no followers on this blog! Yet! :)
